I Can’t Remember Where I Parked My Car (Video)

You parked your car, locked it, and sprinted across the parking lot so you wouldn’t be late for your meeting. When you return to the lot, you stand there perplexed, “I can’t remember where I parked my car.” Sound familiar?

Tony Buzan, originator of the World Memory Championships, tells us in the video below that the problem is we misuse our memory. In step 2, he gives us memory techniques for handling our “forgetting situations” such as where we parked the car.

(It’s an older video, as many memory videos are, but memory problems haven’t been wiped out and I dare say, never will. You might find the intentional blurry segments a bit annoying. Only the segments in which Tony speaks is the video crystal clear — hmmm.)

I Can’t Remember Where I Parked My Car

I really liked Tony Buzan’s suggestions for step 1 — analyzing your “forgetting situations” and creating memory goals for yourself. The next time you park your car (or you’re the passenger in a car being parked) preempt the I can’t remember where I parked my carproblem by applying some of the memory techniques described in this video.
